Gooooooal!!! Touchdown! Net! Whatever cheerful phrase tickles your fancy as you watch your favorite team play, one thing is for sure: it’s all in good fun. What says FUN like a delicious game time food? While we normally do lots of junk snacks and finger foods during the game, this year I decided a truly blended menu…a buffet spread. Since most meals consumed in multicultural cities accross the globe draw on multiple cultural influence, why should superbowl food be any different. Team spirit...you know. So, the meal in our home was a combination of Asian, Nigerian and Western foods. I made:
- Jollof rice
- Egusi Dip with toasted baguette
- Hot Cabbage and Carrots
- Fried Fish
- Slow roast Beef Stew
- Crushed Hot Pepper sauce
- And off course some alcoholic beverages…that is too mature to post on my blog.
- For Dessert: I made apple crisps my style...with bacon and 100% Maple Syrup.
Here are a few pictures to show what happened.
Instead of selecting, I choose everything a little bit of everything on the buffet. This is what my plate looked like:
In the end, Seattle lost but at least I had a great meal with good company. It was all in good fun. What did you eat on game day?
